The party advanced down a corridor. The first room they entered contained armor, the second weapons. Caelesti scanned both rooms with Detect Magic and located two war hammers.

Another room seemed to be a barracks. A chest in the room was full of ears. Torin rifled through the eary chest and found a gemmed earring still attached. The next room was also a barracks, though it had no chest. Detect Magic in the two rooms located none.

The next room was a fancier barracks. The party snuck in quickly to avoid being seen by some smaller humanoids. A scan with Detect Magic located an unlit torch. Caelesti grabbed the torch, dispelling the illusion to reveal a longsword. She pulled out her Artificer's Monocle to scan the sword's magic more thoroughly, and the sword asked her to stop. Further conversation revealed that the sword was a +2 Giant Bane longsword named Targon. Torin became the wielder of Targon.

Someone comments that the humanoids might be working in the kitchen. Caelesti uses her Hat of Disguise to look just like the kitchen help. Caelesti casts Message and advances to scout. The kitchen contained 29 creatures that looked like Caelesi's disguise, and 11 young ogres. A hill giantess told Caelesti to grab a platter and take it into the hall. She did so.

In the great hall, sitting around a large table, were a cloud giant, three stone giants, and three hill giants. Elsewhere in the hall were 20 hill giants and 8 ogres. Caelesti took her first opportunity to drop off the tray and leave. She returned to the others to report.

The party moved back to the north side of the complex. They again skipped two rooms with lots of ruckus within, and searched a room off the war room. It contained the chief's trophies. Detect Magic revealed five Javelins of Lightning. Talon found a fancy fur.

The party returned to the roof to attack the dire wolves from above. Caelesti grouped the wolves together somewhat by dropping all of her food down to them. She then cast Confusion on the large group of dire wolves, confusing five of them. Carric started a summoning spell. Talon used her Madolin to summon a dire fiendish weasel, and used her Amulet of Vermin to summon a giant wasp. The weasel latched onto a dire wolf.

Yoshi chucked shuriken at a wolf. Caelesti cast Confusion on another group of dire wolves, confusing three more. A wolf bit another wolf and tripped it. The tripped wolf stood up and bit it back. Carric's summoned polar bear joined the fray, striking a wolf. The weasel drained blood from the wolf it was attached to. The giant wasp stung a wolf. Talon started singing an inspiring song. A wolf bit the polar bear and tripped it. A free wolf ran to the dire weasel and bit it. The wolf with the weasel latched on to it, bit it and killed it. A wolf ran over to the wasp and bit it. Wolves attacked each other. The polar bear stood up and was knocked back down; it then clawed the wolf while prone. Carric used his Stormfire Ring to cast a damaging Faerie Fire, catching two wolves. The wasp stung the same wolf. Two wasps attacked the wasp and killed it. Some wolves fled, and others stood idly.

Yoshi chucked shuriken at the same wolf. Wolves attacked each other. The polar bear clawed a wolf and killed it. Carric cast another Faerie Fire on two more wolves. The wolves killed the polar bear. A wolf fled. Wolves fought each other. The Faerie Fire damaged wolves. Carric activate the ring again, affecting three more wolves, dropping one. Talon shot a wolf with a crossbow bolt. Torin cast Flame Strike on three wolves, killing one. A wolf killed another.

Yoshi chucked shuriken at a wolf. A wolf killed another. The Faerie Fire killed two wolves. Wolves attacked each other. Torin cast Flame Strike on a group of wolves, killing two.

Yoshi landed and killed a wolf in a flurry of blows. A wolf killed another. Faerie Fire killed another. Caelesti cast Magic Missiles at the last wolf.

Yoshi attacked the last wolf. The wolf attacked back. Yoshi finished it off.

Talon: There is a wall sconce with torch burning, smoking, on south wall.
Talon: Talon looks under the pillows of all the beds.
Talon: Caelesti sees that an unlit torch detects magic.
Talon: She looks for more magic. But it is only the torch.
Talon: Caelesti picks up the magic torch and the illusion is dispelled and she is now holding a long sword.
Talon: Talon is still looking under pillows on the beds.
Talon: Torin uses long swords.
Talon: Sword contines to detect magic, very strong.
Talon: Caelesti looks at it through monocle. It speaks and asks, out loud in common, if we are looking for something?
Talon: Caelesti says she is trying to see what kind of sword it is?
Talon: Sword says Caelesti should not be rude and just ask.
Talon: Caelesti asks.
Talon: Sword says since Caelesti can hold her without dropping her in pain and is not very big, sword is a Giant Bane Sword and did not much like the Giant who brought her here. She was a prize he captured.
Talon: She would like to fight AGAINST Giants.
Talon: Torin has a +1 sword, which this sword sneers at.
Talon: What is this sword's plus?
Talon: Ask it.
Talon: It is a +2 Giant Bane Sword. It can also speak to live and dead Giants.
Talon: Caelesti says she can speak to dead Giants too, but they do not respond.
Talon: Torin is invited to take the sword. He introduces himself.
Talon: Talon introduces herself and asks the swords name so she might immortalize her in song, as is her bardly way.
Torin: I am Targon
Talon: Sword says she is Targon.
Talon: Talon would like to go back to the dead Giants and question them about who is behind plotting the raids.
Talon: Yoshi advises Torin to tell the sword we are trying to be quiet and stealthy now. Sword says it will carry Torin with her and advise.
Talon: Torin says Yoshi scouts and sneaks. Targon says "ahh, your thief!"
Talon: Torin asks who previous master was?
Talon: And how she came here?
Talon: Targon says previous master was Cloud Giant, emissary of his tribe and brought her as gift. Perhaos they are conspiring with Hill Giants to wreak havoc.
Talon: So, there is likely at least 1 Cloud Giant here - as this is his guest room.
Talon: Talon notices there are sacks under the beds. They are filled with giant-junk.
Talon: Nothing special about the garments.
Talon: Caelesti takes one thing from each sack and sticks it in another sack to cause trouble.
Talon: Yoshi wants to go to end of hall and see who is there moving about and eliminate the threat. He thinks it is the kitchen.
Talon: He thinks we might masquerade as servers.
Talon: Talon - do we have an sleeping draught or poison.
Talon: Caelesti looks down the corridor.
Talon: Sees an ugly hunched humanoid.
Talon: Caelesti has a floppy hat and tries to copy the humanoid.
Talon: Caelesti turns towards us and is hideous, long arms, big fangs, sallow complexion, hunches shoulders.
Talon: She looks like an Orc, though we have never seen one. So we don't know WHAT she looks like!
Talon: Yoshi says a server could tell how many there are. Reconnasance. Wander into the main hall with food.
Talon: Talon is concerned about this plan.
Talon: It is Caelesti's decision.
Talon: Caelesti casts Message.
Talon: Or use whispering rings.
Talon: Caelesti wants to cast Message and connect with all of us.
Talon: There are 29 of same type of creatures as Caelesti plus 5 female hill giants in kitchen. Hill Giantess tells Caelesti, in Common, to take platter into hall.
Talon: And 11 young ogres.
Talon: Several creatures open door and gesture and waits for Caelesti.
Talon: Caelesti enters and sees firepit in middle of room. Tables and stools. Whole ox, 4 sheep and 2 pigs are roasting.
Talon: Higher table with powerful Hill giant and giantess and Cloud Giant. Another powerful Hill Giant, look suspicious. 2 Stone Giants.
Talon: Make that 3 stone giants, Phee, Phii, and Pho
Talon: Pet cavebear next to Cloud Giant, Sire Bolt.
Talon: DM lays out banquet hall, 36 critters in hall, all too much for us!!
Talon: Caelesti takes in platter and sets on nearest table.
Talon: She walks back through door.
Talon: She returns to us.
Talon: She whispers and enters our guest room.
Talon: We ask what she saw.
Talon: She describes the big feast and all.
Talon: she says 30-something giants.
Talon: Talon suggests we search rooms to the north.
