The party headed east toward the lake. As the party approached the lake, a harpy landed on the shore. The harpy waddled over to one of the many (about a hundred) posts jutting out of this part of the beach. Each post had a white mask hanging from the top of it. The harpy tapped a wand on a mask several times while muttering something. The mask animated briefly.

Yoshi wanted to see what it was doing up close. He borrowed Nessey's cloak of Vanishing, and Caelesti cast Fly on him. He flew up quickly and caught the harpy doing its ritual again. He could not hear what the harpy was muttering until the harpy asked the question, "Will you live or die, Huld?" The response from the mask was, "For a season I will flourish. I will lose that which I now hold precious and discover that I care not. I will heap atrocity upon atrocity to build a name and will lose even my name in a dust of bones." The harpy screeched and flew off to the castle. Nessey found the whole scene creepy.

The party decided to go up to the castle and investigate. They worked on a cover story, briefly. Caelesti was going to continue with her disguise as an Armiger; the others preferred to be inconspicuous pawns. When Caelesti mentioned she could truthfully say that she just came from Blourbast's inner sanctum, Nessey wanted someone else to pretend to be a Gamesman to be the spokesman instead of Caelesti. Carric agreed to be a Shifter.

Caelesti rapped on the door with the large knocker and cast Fly on herself before anyone could answer. When the door was opened, she was floating a foot off the ground. Carric introduced Caelesti and himself. The butler welcomed the party to the Castle of the High Wizard Chamferton, and invited them in. A stable boy led the animals away.

Chamferton asked why the party was here. Carric mentioned that they were travelers and traders. Chamferton asked where they traveled to. Carric mentioned many places. When he mentioned Poffle, Chamferton asked if the party sided with Poffle. Carric denied being on any side and mentioned further travels.

Caelesti asked about the strange masks on the posts at the beach that they passed on the way up to the castle. Chamferton said he would answer all our questions later, and had his servants show us to his two best rooms.

The servants returned later to collect Carric and Caelesti, but specifically not the pawns. The pawns were locked in the rooms. Yoshi tried to bash down the door, but Mavis (using the rings of communications) told him to stop as she can pick the locks silently. She then proceeded to unlock both doors, though she had some trouble with Yoshi's door.

Chamferton greeted Caelesti and Carric warmly. He said he always enjoys talking to travelers because he learns interesting things. Caelesti reminded him that he mentioned he "learned" from the masks on the posts. He agreed and said that the masks were made from his previous guests. He said the masks allowed him to communicate with his guests and that none ever denied him from making a mask, since there was no harm at all to the victim, er guest. Caelest tried three times to cast Charm Person silently, but it did not seem work. Chamferton brought forth alcohol; Carric detected no poison in it. Carric drank some, so Caelesti did too. The three ate and drank. Caelesti, in the mood, began dancing.

Yoshi listened outside the door, with the other pawns nearby. Chamferton asked if he could take their faces. Carric said no; Caelesti verified that it wouldn't hurt and said OK. Chamferton offered more drinks and both Carric and Caelesti passed out.

Yoshi tried to get in, but the door was stuck. The door was then barred. Yoshi tried to break the door open, but failed. The three together tried and failed.

A short time later, the door opened. Chamferton asked about the noise. Yoshi rushed in and grabbed Chamferton.

Nessey's notes

Lady Nessey: Carric has come back as an Eagle and reported about the road to the East - which leads to a big lake and castle.
Lady Nessey: Nessey - Well we know enough to fill the map in. I guess we are done.
Lady Nessey: There are posts sticking out of the lake near the shore. Perhaps a hundred with something ivory colored on top of each post.
Lady Nessey: Can't see exactly what.
Lady Nessey: Is it late afternoon by now? yes.
Lady Nessey: Mavis says she wishes the eagles had flown closer to the posts to see if they had heads/faces. Perhaps that is what would make it the Lake of Faces?
Lady Nessey: Caelesti - what were our instructions?
Lady Nessey: Nessey - we are supposed to fill in the map - let's measure and draw to scale the castle and lake and connect them to the known roads.
Lady Nessey: WE proceed on the path and are now on a crest, looking down at the lake. we see =
Lady Nessey: A bunch of posts with something ivory on each. As we watch, we see something large come flying down and land on the shore. We about 100 yards from the lake.
Lady Nessey: The thing flying looks like a woman's torso on a bird body. It holds a stick. It lands and waddles and looks around.
Lady Nessey: There is some resemblence, but doesn't look like the Pantiquod we know.
Lady Nessey: The creature waddles and looks around and flies out and finds a post and .... (the rest depends on whether she has arms/hands or just wings.)
Lady Nessey: In the book - she does have long arms with talons and also wings.
Lady Nessey: She has it all. Her long arms actually have long fingernails/claws. Her feet have talons. She has long saggy naked breasts.
Lady Nessey: She taps one of the white things at top of post with her stick and taps again and says stuff... we can't tell what. There is some sort of movement from the white thing and she listens. (It is a wand-like stick that she taps with.) She grimaces and waddles back to the shore and starts looking around again.
Lady Nessey: Nessey is just intrigued.
Lady Nessey: Carric worries about being concealed enough and tries not to move.
Lady Nessey: Mavis - I wish we could hear what she is saying. Should we wait until she leaves?
Lady Nessey: Carric - I think we should wait.
Yoshi rolls Sk:Move Silently (d20 + 10 + 2): [14 + 10 + 2] = 26
Lady Nessey: Yoshi asks if Caelesti can make him invisible?
Lady Nessey: She says no.
Lady Nessey: Nessey - I can do that. You can borrow my cloak and use one charge per 4 rounds, but go quietly.
Lady Nessey: And I only have 3 charges.
Lady Nessey: She puts the cloak over his shoulders and hugs him, quietly for luck.
Lady Nessey: Caelesti offers to cast fly on him before he vanishes.
Lady Nessey: He accepts.
Lady Nessey: The creature is speaking to another ivory thing on another post.
Lady Nessey: Nessey whispers the command word and he flies off. Rate of 60.
Lady Nessey: Yoshi lands on the shore just as the creature heads out into the water again.
Lady Nessey: He has a better look at the posts.
Lady Nessey: On each post - white pole - 3 inches diameter and a face hanging from it, blind eyed, closed lip, thin strap from ear to ear nailed with a silver spike. Yoshi does not recognize the face the creature is striking.
Lady Nessey: The creature calls strange words and strikes pole 3 times. After 3 of each.
Lady Nessey: Face - What will you know?
Mavis: Will you live or die, Huld?
Mavis: For a season I will flourish. I will lose that which I now hold precious and discover that I care not. I will heap atrocity upon atrocity to build a name and will lose evn my name in a dust of bones.
Lady Nessey: The Harpy screeches and puts the wand into a case and snaps it shut and flies up and hovers and poops and flies off into the air to the castle.
Lady Nessey: Yoshi rejoins us and tells us what he thought he heard.
Lady Nessey: He wonders if anyone knows what it means. He says it reminds him of the riddle of the Sphinx.
Lady Nessey: Carric recalls that the Son of Blourbast is named Huld.
Lady Nessey: Mavis - It did seem prophetic.
Lady Nessey: Nessey - it must be connected to him in some way.
Caelesti rolls Skill (Know - Arcana) (d20 + 2): [12 + 2] = 14
Nessey: We agree to go take a closer look at the poles and faces now the Harpy is away.
Nessey: Caelesti thinks we should just go up to the castle and talk to the Harpy. But the rest of us think the Harpy is likely evil and we should not do that.
Nessey: Yoshi looks for his own face among the poles. All the faces are unknown to us, so far. There are 100 poles stuck in the water, not far from shore. Each has a white face nailed to it.
Nessey: Nessey touches one of the faces - it seems to be thin leathery skin.
Nessey: None appear to be decayed.
Nessey: All seem in the same good condition.
Nessey: Nesey says, Hello - to one of the faces.
Nessey: Mavis - if only we had the right wand.
Nessey: Nessey - has ambivalent feelings about interferring - is there something good or bad happening here? These faces don't look happy. Do you think they are trapped? Do you think their bodies are trapped? Or the people they are linked to?
Nessey: Caelesti suggests they are "mouths" first level Wizard spells.
Nessey: Mavis is skeptical because these seem prophetic.
Nessey: She thinks they say different things depending on the question.
Nessey: But if they were magic mouths they would just say the same thing over and over.
Nessey: Caelesti says we should not judge all Harpies from the one we met before.
Nessey: Nessey is concerned that something bad is happening here.
Nessey: Nessey tries to part the lips and stick her finger in. She can't.
Nessey: The lips appear to be sealed.
Nessey: Yoshi - there is clearly some sort of magical effect going on here.
Nessey: Mavis - as far as I am concerned, we are going up there, to the castle.
Nessey: Nessey - we are travelers. We are looking for a place to stay tonight.
Nessey: Yoshi - we can check out any time we want, but we can never leave?
Nessey: Nessey - well, it's an idea.
Nessey: Caelesti - I guess the dance troop doesn't work now without Talon.
Nessey: Nessey - maybe the Harpy will have a piece of Carric's outfit?
Nessey: Mavis - Carric is known to associate with dubious people before. Carric - did you cavort with that Harpy and leave her your clothes?
Nessey: Carric - not even in my wildest delierium.
Nessey: Nessey - you probably be the perfect partner for her, Carric, because you can be a bird or a human.
Nessey: You could be matched with her on D-Harmony.
Nessey: Caelesti wants to tell her we were hired to map the area.
Nessey: Yoshi says some people are private and don't want their domain mapped.
Nessey: Nessey - are we pawns or gamesmen when we go to see her?
Nessey: Yoshi - we are neither.
Nessey: Nessey - but here there is only one or the other.
Nessey: Yoshi - we should say we are not gamesmen.
Nessey: Caelesti - we could say we are gamesmen and they wouldn't know.
Nessey: Yoshi - I have found we can be completely honest and not tell the whole truth at the same time.
Nessey: Caelesti - They will find us more important if we are gamesmen.
Nessey: Yoshi - you can be one. I don't want to.
Nessey: Mavis - what will you be?
Nessey: Caelesti - I will be an Armiger.
Nessey: Nessey - Gee, Mavis, if you were a Demon, she might like you.
Nessey: Nessey - you do have an uncanny sense of what people are motivated by.
Nessey: Mavis - yes, I have developed that as a professional skill.

Nessey: Nessey - I think we need two to make us look more powerful.
Nessey: Mavis - I agree with that. It might help us hold our own. They would not feel like they could pull one over on us.
Nessey: Carric - I prefer not to be classified.
Nessey: Nessey - well, I can cast Daylight, but that is not going to impress her?
Nessey: Mavis - the castle is supposed to belong to a high level Wizard - GUY.
Nessey: Yoshi leads us, impatiently, to the castle.
Nessey: His name is Chamferton
Nessey: We proceed up the hill to the castle. It seems to get larger as we approach.
Nessey: It appears to be made of dark stone. It has moss growing on the lower parts. It has gargoyles on the upper parts - nasty, fanged gargolyes. It is a foreboding structure.
Nessey: There is a door with a large knocker.
Nessey: Nessey - now, before we knock on the door, we are travelers and traders, right? Right, Caelesti? Right?
Nessey: You can be an Armiger, but we are travelers and traders, right?
Nessey: Caelesti - but truthfully, we did just come from Blourbast's chamber like the other Armigers and Sorcerer's chambers.
Nessey: Mavis - can we gag her?
Nessey: Nessey - Caelesti - please don't say that - do you want your face to be hanging on a post?????
Nessey: Nessey refuses to enter the castle unless Yoshi convinces Caelesti to behave.
Nessey: Yoshi - how did I get to be the enforcer?
Nessey: Mavis - I prefer Carric go in as a Shifter with Caelesti with his silent side-kick.
Nessey: Nessey appeals to Carric to lead. Nessey refuses to enter if Caelesti leads.
Nessey: Carric - what is our story if I lead?
Nessey: Nessey - we are from far away.
Nessey: Nessey - we are travelers and traders.
Nessey: We are NOT from Poffle.
Nessey: Mavis - that Harpy, according to Yoshi, looked vaguely familar, family resemblence?
Nessey: Nessey - let us be innocent travelers from afar.
Nessey: Yoshi - let us be innocent travelers from afar.
Nessey: Nessey - so is Caelesti a pawn or a mute Armiger.
Nessey: Mavis - she will be a clueless Armiger.
Nessey: Nessey - don't forget to mention that our Armiger was hit over the head lately and is dazed and confused and that is why we are seeking shelter for the night.
Nessey: Carric, followed by Caelesti, knock on the knocker.
Nessey: We pawns wait at a respectable distance.
Nessey: Caelesti casts Fly before the door opens.
Nessey: The door opens with a CReeeeeeeeeeeeK
Nessey: Caelesti is hovering a foot off the ground.
Nessey: Guy stands there looking at hovering Caelesti and Carric under a Pombie head.
Nessey: He looks at the pawns standing in the back.
Nessey: he says "ahhh, visitors... who comes to the castle of the Wizard Chamferton?"
Nessey: None of we pawns speaks at all.
Nessey: We are respectful, appearing, pretending, of Caeelesti and Carric.
Nessey: He says to leave the horse and mule.
Nessey: He whistles and a stable boy comes up and takes our horses.
Nessey: Yoshi is concerned for the safety of the horses.
Mavis: ante
Nessey: He heads us into an anteroom.
Nessey: Antler Ruuum?
Nessey: Zimmer?
Nessey: He seats us and says he will get the High Wizard. He hastens away.
Nessey: We are in a little room, by ourselves and Tan Kuran.
Nessey: We pawns recede against the walls. Carric and Caelesti stand prominent.
Nessey: The Wizard - ahhh, my visitors, welcome, welcome. I am the High Wizard Chamferton.
Nessey: Who do I have the pleasure of meeting - he looks from Carric to Caelesti only.
Nessey: They introduce themselves. He identifies their gamesmen ranks. They agree. He says he also sees their pawns of no interest.
Nessey: He asks why they are here?
Nessey: Carric says they travel and trade and saw his castle and decided to visit. Does he welcome travelers.
Nessey: Chamferton - I doubt you saw my castle in the distance, as it is very private.
Nessey: Carric - we were exploring.
Nessey: Chamferton - where did you come from?
Nessey: Carric - from down south including Poffle.
Nessey: Nessey hisses under her breath.
Nessey: Mavis slaps Nessey and whispers her to be quiet.
Nessey: He asks is we are allies of Poffle.
Nessey: Carric says - no we are just travelers.
Nessey: Carric mentions Xammer and Betand.
Nessey: Chamferton asks if we met the Duke?
Nessey: Carric says yes, charming fellow.
Nessey: Chamferton asks if we crossed Pfarb Durim? What are conditions like there?
Nessey: Carric - the plague has been cured but there seems to be a little civil unrest, no one really in charge.
Nessey: Chamferton says it is not really of importance to him. He is a humble Wizard who studies.
Nessey: He asks if Caelesti studies?
Nessey: She says yes.
Nessey: he says he is a simple high Wizard who likes to know what is going on in the world and he has his ways of finding out what is going one and one way is to talk to travelers from a far so welcome and stay a while.
Nessey: Caelesti - askes about the posts and masks.
Nessey: He says - yes, indeed that is part of how he knows what is going on, a harmless pastime. Come and eat and he will answer all our questions later.
Yoshi rolls Sk:Sense Motive (d20 + 11 + 4 + 5): [14 + 11 + 4 + 5] = 34
Nessey: He summons some servants.
Nessey: Yoshi does not quite trust this "Simple Wizard."
Nessey: He seems to be extra happy that we are going to come in and talk and "dine."
Nessey: Simple HIGH Wizard. (he inhaled)
Nessey: "Hanz, Fritz, take this Armiger and Shifter and lead them to our best guest rooms and take their pawns to the rooms off the kitchen." Fritz leads us pawns. Hanz leads Carric and Caelesti.
Nessey: Yoshi - master, don't you prefer to have us with you?
Nessey: Carric - yes, we are used to their assistance. They can sleep at the foot of the bed, on the floor.
Nessey: Caelesti - yes, we relie on their pampering.
Nessey: Yoshi whispers into the ring, be careful something funny is going on. Mavis whispers okay.
Nessey: The gals all in one room - the guys all in another.
Nessey: The servants lead us in and close the door.
Nessey: What about Tan Kuran? She is in room with Carric, even though she is a girl eagle.
Nessey: Mavis - what do you think, Caelesti?
Nessey: Caelesti - about what?
Nessey: Mavis - do you trust him?
Nessey: Caelesti - so far. yes.
Nessey: Nessey - what is your sense about him, Mavis?
Nessey: Mavis - he seems too humble. I am suspicious of all Gamesmen.
Nessey: Nessey - I am suspicious too.
Nessey: Yoshi tells Carric that he has a bad feeling about Chamferton.
Nessey: Carric - I wonder what the powers of a High Wizard are.
Nessey: Caelesti to Mavis - do you think he is scrying on us?
Nessey: Carric to Yoshi - what are you sensing?
Nessey: Yoshi - an ulterior motive.
Nessey: Carric - we will have to be on guard.
Nessey: Yoshi - he might try to capture you or turn/us into faces.
Nessey: Carric - anything is possible, but I assume the one face, of Huel, was not his real face...
Nessey: Yoshi - they might be connected, but I didn't mean to offer specific fears. I just want to alert us to a vague problem.
Nessey: In a few minutes there is a knock on each door.
Nessey: Nessey has freshened up.
Nessey: She combs the dust out of her sparkly gold hair and splashes water on her face.
Nessey: Mavis does mention that Yoshi is/was suspicious too.
Nessey: Caelesti pays no attention.
Nessey: They say they just want Carric, not his male pawn.
Nessey: Carric - what were your exact instructions?
Nessey: Servant says - to bring Carric and no one else. I am sure other people have other instructions.
Nessey: Carric says he will bring Yoshi himself.
Nessey: Servant says he can only bring Carric.
Nessey: Carric says he himself will bring Yoshi.
Nessey: Servant asks that Carric steps out the door.
Nessey: Carric steps out the door.
Nessey: Servant closes the door.
Nessey: Servant demands that Sir Carric come along and only he.
Nessey: Yoshi waits 5 seconds and opens the door - finds it locked - teleports to the other side.
Nessey: Or not, since he must be able to see where he translocates to. Is there a big enough keyhole?
Nessey: Servant at other door requests The Lady Caelesti.
Nessey: Nessey asks very humbly if she may sit in the back of the kitchen and eat a few crumbs.
Nessey: He says he will send a servant for us soon.
Yoshi rolls Ability:Strength (d20 + 2): [5 + 2] = 7

Nessey: Both rooms are locked and Yoshi can not translocate, but will risk making noise of breaking down the door.
Mavis rolls Mavis Open Lock (d20 + 11): [14 + 11] = 25
Nessey: Nessey - why don't you communicate with Yoshi and offer to pick our lock AND his so he doesn't have to make noise.
Mavis rolls Mavis Open Lock (d20 + 11): [6 + 11] = 17

Nessey: Mavis opens our lock and goes to the next door and says it is a harder lock.
Mavis rolls Mavis Open Lock (d20 + 11): [4 + 11] = 15
Nessey: Tan Kuran is left with Yoshi.
Nessey: Mavis struggles to open Yoshi's lock.
Mavis rolls Mavis Open Lock (d20 + 11): [8 + 11] = 19

Nessey: Chamferton is sitting at a table writing. He looks up. "Ahhh, my guests."
Nessey: After 5 tries Mavis gets Yoshi's lock open.
Nessey: Yoshi says we need to leave Tan Kuran in the room so she doesn't give us away.
Nessey: Yoshi imagines us in a hallway with doors to listen at. His vision is manifest.
Nessey: Yoshi goes down the hall and looks around the corner.
Nessey: Caelesti is still flying a bit off the ground/floor.
Nessey: Host is eager to talk to travelers from afar.
Nessey: Carric - thank you.
Nessey: Carric - thank you for having us in your beautiful castle. I hope you will be able to show us around and how the faces on the poles work?
Nessey: Chmf - oh you saw my faces?
Nessey: Carric - how do they work?
Nessey: Cae - you mentioned you can learn from them?
Nessey: Chmf - they are other guests I have had at my castle. We talk and they are happy to leave a face. Then they go on their way and no harm, of course. Nessey: Cae - how do they leave a face?
Nessey: He opens a drawer, pulls out a wand, says he touches their face and they leave a copy and can continue to communicate to our mutual benefit.
Nessey: Carric - we need to know more about this.
Nessey: Carric - is there any change to their original face?
Nessey: Chmf - Absolutely not, Sire Carric, no change, no change whatsoever. Of course, I do not require this of my guests. One does not force things on guests. However every other guest has been happy to comply. But you must be hungry. He orders servants to bring food and open a special cabinet and pulls out a decanter and offers it to his special guests.

Nessey: Cae - how wonderful (and does a Charm person on him)
Nessey: He seems perfectly friendly to her.
Nessey: Did her spell work or not?
Nessey: Caelestic gets the impression he is not effected.

Nessey: Carric does detect poison.
Nessey: Caelesti tries again.
Nessey: Carric does not detect any poison.
Nessey: He does detect magic on it.
Nessey: He mumbles.
Nessey: Wizard Chmf asks why Carric is mumbling?
Nessey: Carric - I mumble because I am looking at it.

Nessey: Cae tries a third time to Charm, after first 2 failed.
Nessey: He looks at Caelesti and smiles and says he is glad to have friends like them here.
Nessey: He seems no different.
Nessey: Carric asks what kind of special drink it is?
Nessey: He says wine from the south and goes best with food. Fritz enters with trays of food and spreads it out. The liguid does not detect magic.
Nessey: Carric detects that it is an alcoholic drink.
Nessey: Is it alchemically-related? Carric does not detect anything that spell would call a poison.
Nessey: They toast.
Nessey: He says, well, welcome, welcome to my castle and lifts glass to his lips and takes a swig.
Nessey: Carric takes a swig and so does Caelesti.
Nessey: It is delicious southern wine! It has flavors we are not familar with in wine.
Nessey: The food looks and smells really appetizing.
Nessey: Carric and Caelesti feel a wave of warmth pass through them and they feel good and want to eat and drink and go with the moment. Caelesti begins to dance.
Nessey: Yoshi has seen the servant go in and out, but servant is away now. Yoshi listens at the door.
Nessey: Nessey moves up to back up Yoshi.
Yoshi rolls Sk:Listen (d20 + 9 + 4): [19 + 9 + 4] = 32
Nessey: Yoshi hears happy voices of his companions.
Nessey: He hears host urging companions to eat and drink.
Nessey: Then he hears pitter-patter of Caelesti dancing lightly while still having fly spell up.
Nessey: Perhaps her feet are not even touching the floor, but Yoshi can hear the air currents.
Nessey: Chmf - so, Sire Carric, did I hear you say you were willing to leave your face here?
Nessey: Carric - no, not yet.
Carric rolls Save/Will (d20 + 9): [20 + 9] = 29
Nessey: Will check -8
Nessey: Carric is not convinced yet.
Nessey: He is hard to persuade right now.
Nessey: Carric does or does not feel a tingling?
Nessey: He does not.
Nessey: He is not suspicious. Suggestion seemed normal conversation.
Nessey: Yoshi's suspicion level goes up with the way the host phrased the question.
Nessey: He puts the same question to Lady Caelesti.
Nessey: She says she like her face on her face.
Nessey: He says it is a figure of speech.
Nessey: She asks if it will hurt?
Nessey: he says no not at all.
Nessey: Carric says to Caelest that they need to talk as a group. He apologises to Wizard.
Nessey: Wizard says he will send them to their rooms after another toast.
Nessey: He pours more wine.
Nessey: He clinks glasses.
Nessey: Carric drinks and then gets up and collect Caelesti and makes to go back to their rooms or take a walk outside.
Carric rolls Save/Fortitude (d20 + 7): [12 + 7] = 19
Nessey: Caelesti drank hers too.
Caelesti rolls Save (Fortitude) (d20 + 1): [9 + 1] = 10
Nessey: They must make Fort saves.
Nessey: at -10
Nessey: They get up and slump to the floor.
Yoshi rolls Sk:Listen (d20 + 9 + 4): [5 + 9 + 4] = 18
Nessey: Yoshi hears that and tells the rest of us we are going in.
Nessey: Carric and Caelesti are unconscious.
Nessey: Nessey is right beside Yoshi.
Nessey rolls Nes - Initiative (d20 + 3): [20 + 3] = 23
Yoshi rolls Initiative (d20 + 4 + 2): [13 + 4 + 2] = 19
Mavis rolls d20: [9] = 9
Nessey: We might pause here.
Yoshi rolls Ability:Strength (d20 + 2): [6 + 2] = 8
Nessey: Yoshi opens the door, if he can.
Nessey: Yoshi knocks on the door.
Nessey: There is a gasp from the inside, movement from within. Door shakes and firms up.
Nessey: The door no longer appears to be loose.
Nessey: Might have been barred.
Nessey: Finally Yoshi asks Mavis to open it.
Nessey: We move aside for her.
Mavis rolls Mavis Search (d20 + 10): [2 + 10] = 12
Nessey: Mavis says it is firmly stuck. She examines it.
Nessey: It doesn't look locked to her.
Mavis rolls Mavis Open Lock (d20 + 11): [3 + 11] = 14
Nessey: Mavis can't get in. It doesn't seem to be locked, but she can't open it.
Yoshi rolls Ability:Strength (d20 + 2): [9 + 2] = 11
Nessey: Yoshi wants to kick it open. He says, "we go in feet first."
Nessey: The door doesn't move.
Mavis rolls d20: [18] = 18
Nessey rolls Nes - Strength (d20 + 1): [2 + 1] = 3
Yoshi rolls Ability:Strength (d20 + 2): [14 + 2] = 16
Nessey: Nessey and Mavis aid Yoshi is trying to push open the door.
Nessey rolls Nes - Strength (d20 + 1): [5 + 1] = 6
Mavis rolls d20: [20] = 20
Yoshi rolls Ability:Strength (d20 + 2): [12 + 2] = 14
Nessey: Mavis aids Yoshi. Nessey not so much.
Nessey rolls Nes - Strength (d20 + 1): [15 + 1] = 16
Yoshi rolls Sk:Listen (d20 + 9 + 4): [12 + 9 + 4] = 25
Nessey: Nessey does a good job this time.
Mavis rolls d20: [3] = 3
Nessey: Yoshi hears shuffling within the room.
Yoshi rolls Ability:Strength (d20 + 2): [11 + 2] = 13
Nessey rolls Nes - Strength (d20 + 1): [19 + 1] = 20
Mavis rolls d20: [19] = 19
Yoshi rolls Ability:Strength (d20 + 2): [10 + 2] = 12
Nessey: Yoshi can't get the door open no how.
Mavis rolls d20: [6] = 6
Nessey rolls Nes - Strength (d20 + 1): [1 + 1] = 2
Yoshi rolls Ability:Strength (d20 + 2): [20 + 2] = 22
Nessey: Nessey - maybe we should see if there are other entrances to this room?
Nessey: We look around.
Nessey: A couple minutes later, the door opens.
Nessey: What is all this pounding, says the host as he opens the door and looks around.
Nessey: Host opens door and sees Yoshi.
Yoshi rolls Sk:Tumble (d20 + 9 + 2): [12 + 9 + 2] = 23
Nessey: Yoshi goes through him into the room.
Nessey: His friends are sitting on chairs unconscious, smiling, but slumped on chairs.
Nessey: Wiz - Why are my friends unconscious?
Nessey: Oooops - Yoshi said that.
Nessey: Yoshi - I do not find that sufficient.
Nessey: Wiz - I'm not sure it matters what a pawn thinks.
Nessey: Yoshi - you have something to learn!
Nessey: Yoshi calls for Mavis and Caelesti.
Yoshi rolls Atk:Unarmed Full 1 (d20 + 9): [16 + 9] = 25
Nessey: Yoshi accuses Wiz of harming his friends and twists Wiz's arms behind his back.
Nessey: Nessey is not happy. She does not think there is necessarily anything wrong.
Nessey: Wiz says it is just the wine.
Nessey: Yoshi is alarmed that Carric is unconscious.
Nessey: Yoshi says have some faith. If I have to explain everything, we wil never get anything done. You can ask me later.
Nessey: We continue in 3 weeks. Caelesti is unconscious anyway. So we can pick up here perhaps.
