Carric also said there was a watchtower with a sleeping guard by a gong of some sort. Stairs led from the watchtower into the complex. The party decided to attack the guard and spy into the complex from the stairs. Torin and Caelesti cast Fly on everyone. Yoshi also received Bull's Strength and Mage Armor spells.

The party flew down near the sleeping giant. Carric started a Summon spell. Torin moved to grab the gongs mallet. Yoshi flew down next to Torin. Carric's summoned wolves surrounded the giant and attacked him. Carric cast Magic Missiles at the giant. Giant woke up confused by the wolf attack. Yoshi advanced and attacked. Talin started singing. Torin flew away from the combat. The wolves continued to attack. Yoshi attacked the giant, dropping it; he continued striking it until it was dead.

Yoshi moved ahead down the stairs to scout. Talin started cutting up the giant, asking Carric for help from the wolves. Carric led the wolves down the stairs after Yoshi. Caelesti and Torin moved onto the stairs.

Yoshi stumbled upon two more sleeping guards in the entry area. Carric and his wolves surrounded the sleeping guards and killed them without making too much noise.

Noises of a raucus paraty were coming from behind large doors; Yoshi moved off to a smaller door. That door led to an empty corridor. Yoshi heard snoring behind one door and opened it. The party entered the room and surrounded the sleeping giant. Yoshi killed it in one well-prepared strike. There was chest with: 980 cp, 320 sp, 1500 gp. On a shelf was a gemmed comb (300 gp), a mirror (200 gp), and a gemmed hairpin (800 gp).

Down the corridor was another room with two sleeping giants. The party entered and sneakily killed them both. Loot: 110 pp

The party skipped past two doors with non-sleeping giants, and opened a door to large corridors and a huge room. The huge room appeared to be a trophy room. Detect Magic revealed a magic shield. Torin picked it up, being the only shield wielder.

There was another quiet room off the trophy room. Yoshi opened the door and was surprised by a cave bear.

The bear lumbered forward. Yoshi charged the bear, striking at it. Caelesti cast Haste on the party. The bear clawed Yoshi twice and bit at him; Yoshi kicked the paws out from under the bear while dodging its bite. Yoshi called for assistance. Talon came up behind Yoshi and cast Cure Serious Wounds on him. Caelesti cast Magic Missiles at the bear. Torin attacked the bear while Yoshi had it distracted.

The bear stood up; Yoshi struck its exposed belly. The bear struck Yoshi. Yoshi struck the bear several times. Caelesti cast more Magic Missiles at it. Carric summoned a bear next to the original, but its heart wasn't into the fight. Carric cast a Cure Serious Wounds on Yoshi. Torin struck the bear, dropping it. Room loot: 29 gems (11,130 gps).

Talon: Hill Giant holds up a whip to make the dire wolves cower.
Talon: While Carric/eagle was watching.
Talon: Earlier.
Talon: He gets them to calm down. Tosses out big haunches of meat.
Talon: Goes into door and closes it.
Talon: Carric, as Druid/Eagle feels his blood boil at this threateningly cruel behavoir, but he manages to keep his cool and wait and plan.
Talon: Large windowless building with open pen and two areas with rooms.
Talon: Carric reports 14 dire wovles and a Hill Giant with a whip.
Talon: We are not daunted by that, but Carric speculates there are more Giants within the building.
Talon: Talon asks Carric and Yoshi, the manly men of the party, what they make of all this?
Talon: Yoshi wants to know who is stealthy among us? it is him, our monk.
Talon: Yoshi recalls Beetle Elixir. But decides it is not helpful during the day.
Talon: There is a snoozing giant "on watch" in the watch tower.
Talon: Guard is up there with an iron hoop and a bar - perhaps as a signaling/warning device.
Talon: OUr plan is to all fly up around him and take away his iron bar and take him out.
Talon: We may or may not spy down the stairs into the great house.
Talon: They volunteer Talon to go up to front door and distract the Giants. She smiles.
Talon: Caelesti wants Carric to start with a summoned dire wolf.
Talon: Torin offers to do a Flame Strike.
Talon: He is a pyro.
Talon: We discuss removing the body of the guy on the roof, so he appears to have just "disappeared." Or cutting off his head and taking it with us, to scare his brethren.
Talon: We also discuss letting the dire wolves out and so a giant will go looking for them and we can take him off.
Talon: Talon suggests two creatures so they can flank the sleeping giant.
Talon: Torin will fly in quietly and remove the clapper.
