Introductions were made -- a couple times. The old man was called Durgen. He mumbled to himself, repeating things. He warned the party to beware of the stickies.

The party followed the old man to a clearing in the rocks. He stood silent for a long while. A robed figure glided into the clearing. She introduced herself as Myrtilon. Beedie said that was a name from children's stories. He was the love of Love Wings. Nessey asked Myrtilon if Love Wings was with her. He said yes and stood still for a while, like Durgen had. Love Wings appeared, gliding into the clearing like Myrtilon had. All three seemed to mumble and repeat what was said, creeping out some of the party. Before they fled the area, the party learned that an earthquake seemed to have broken a barrier allowing the giant worms into the area. The worms eat the stickies and the old man poisons the giant worms -- slowly.

The party went to investigate the broken barrier. They found large fallen rocks. It got dark fast, and windy, so the party looked for a cave to rest in. The night was uneventful.

After breakfast and some spell recovery, the party returned to the broken barrier. The party climbed to the top of the barrier, with help from others and the troll-gut rope. The gap in the wall was obvious. The party climbed down the other side and followed the chasm to an intact wall. The party searched the area between the walls for the source of the worms, locating a cave.

Yoshi and Mavis entered the cave. Caelesti and Carric followed. The cave smelled like the giant worm. There were 4 very large eggs in the cave. Yoshi cut open the casings and killed the larval worms inside.

The party exited the cave and searched the rest of the area between the walls. They found another small cave with two more large eggs. Yoshi, Egg Slayer, finished off the larval worms.

The party then headed down-chasm to look for big worms. Before they found any, they ran across a clear pool. Yoshi and Nessey bathed naked together. Caelesti asked if she was going to tell Wolfy.

Night fell, and the party set up watches. The night was again uneventful.

In the morning, the party headed down-chasm. They ran across Myrtilon and Love Wings standing where right where they last saw them. They were unresponsive. Yoshi looked under their hoods, but only saw more cloth, like a veil. Mavis pulled at one sleeve; it was sewn closed. Mavis also noticed the same smell that was on the clothes in the net. Mavis said she was going to do something rude, and proceeded to slit a robe down its side. Within the robe was a framework of sticks sitting on a basket. The smell was coming from the basket. Yoshi disrobed the wicker figure. The framework was dense. Mavis and Yoshi set it on its side. The bottom was hollow, but there was nothing in it.

Carric, following slithery tracks, led the party through the labyrinth to the chasm wall. There were three more robed figures leaning against the wall. Mavis whispered and pointed, "There's Durgen". He was standing near a shiny spot on the ground. Yoshi called out a greeting. Durgen said, "I told you not to bother the stickies". Yoshi asked for introductions. Durgen indicated the shiny spot and said, "This is Myrtilon". Apparently the stickies absorbed the bodies and minds of Myrtilon and Love Wings. Other stickies have not yet absorbed anyone and yearn to do so. When questioned, Myrtilon-sticky admitted that stickies caused the fall of lost bridge. They then absorbed many bodies and minds and felt very bad for what they had done.

The party, off to the side, discussed the morality of feeding bodies to the worms, assuming the banders attacked the party, and the party killed some while defending themselves. Yoshi was against the idea. Most were in favor of it, since the bodies were simply being reabsorbed by nature.

NesseytheBrave: Old Dude again: Who are you? What are you doing here?
NesseytheBrave: I can't hear anything now.
NesseytheBrave: Greetings! I'm Carric. We have been sent from the bridges above to investigate the destruction of the roots!
NesseytheBrave: And who are you?
NesseytheBrave: Old Dude: I am Durgen and who sent you?
NesseytheBrave: Carric - we were sent by Rootweaver of the Beeds Clan of Topbridge.
NesseytheBrave: Caelesti - and our guides here are from Topbridge. Aren't you?

NesseytheBrave: Carric introduces Mercald and Beedie and Roges.
NesseytheBrave: Beedie, I didn't know anyone was living down here.
NesseytheBrave: OD - Hah! If you can this living.

NesseytheBrave: Yoshi asks again who OD is. He says again Durgen.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi is apparently deaf from the humidity.
NesseytheBrave: Carric explains everyone role, badly.
NesseytheBrave: Carric and Yoshi ask what it is that needs to be done down here that you do.
NesseytheBrave: Durgen clutches his staff, sticks out his lip, and says, "I don't know why you feel you had to come down and bother the stickies.
NesseytheBrave: Carric - the what?
NesseytheBrave: Durgen, "You bother the stickies and they will bother you!"
NesseytheBrave: Carric if the Stickies have anything to do with the net?
NesseytheBrave: Durgen looks up at net and mumbles and says, "good net, good net."
NesseytheBrave: Caelesti - Are the stickies damaging the roots.
NesseytheBrave: Durgen, "talks to himself like Kreacher and repeats over and over, "Are the stickies damaging the roots? Are the stickies damaging the roots?"
NesseytheBrave: Carric - If the stickies are not damaging the roots, then tell us who is and we will leave post haste.
NesseytheBrave: Durgen repeats all this to his staff.
NesseytheBrave: One of his eyes wanders in another direction. Then it pops back and he stares at us.
NesseytheBrave: Durgen - why are you damaging the roots?
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - We need to move on.
NesseytheBrave: Caelesti - if he knows anything about the roots...
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - he is giving us incoherent answers.
NesseytheBrave: Caelesti - but he might have control over stickies.
NesseytheBrave: Carric - when do the stickies come?
NesseytheBrave: OD - young man, the stickies are here always.
NesseytheBrave: Carric - what about the boundless?
NesseytheBrave: OD - I know nothing of the Boundless.
NesseytheBrave: Mercald steps forward eagerly, "You know nothing of the Boundless."
NesseytheBrave: Nesssey - oh, oh.
NesseytheBrave: Carric - I am a Druid of Belenus. Do you know what a Druid is?
NesseytheBrave: OD's eyes light up. "Oh, yes, Druid, Belenus. There is no sun down here. There is no place for you here, young Druid."
NesseytheBrave: OD - down here we have only the stickies.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - can we meet one?
NesseytheBrave: OD - I will give you a hint, don't shake their hands.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - but what are they?
NesseytheBrave: OD - stickie is as stickie does.
NesseytheBrave: Caelesti - at least they have hands, that is promising.
NesseytheBrave: Carric - do you remember the sun?
NesseytheBrave: OD - yes, but here there is only dark and wet.

NesseytheBrave: Nessey - a big worm caught me and dragged me down.
NesseytheBrave: OD - Oh, those big worms, they eat the stickies.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - do you know why the worms are sick?
NesseytheBrave: OD - I spread plant sap on them, but there they are.
NesseytheBrave: OD - why are you here?
NesseytheBrave: Nessey - A big worm at me. I was about a mile up and a big worm came and ate me.
NesseytheBrave: OD - she was eaten by a worm and here she is. she was eaten by a worn and here she is.
NesseytheBrave: Carric - We cut the worm open and save her before she was digested.
NesseytheBrave: OD - oh, you better come with me.
NesseytheBrave: We follow him.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi thinks the Worms might be sick from sap and so eating roots to get better.
NesseytheBrave: OD goes to clearing in rocks and stands in the middle and crosses his arms and puts hands on his belly and stands silent and still.
NesseytheBrave: We wait.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi draws his fists and waits.
NesseytheBrave: Rest don't draw weapons, just wait.
NesseytheBrave: We see, coming from a gap between the labyrinth of large rocks = what appears to be someone who is 5 1/2 feet tall, wearing long robes and has its hands clasped in front and long sleeves and hood over its head, can't see face. It comes gliding out from the middle.
NesseytheBrave: Carric assumes posture like Durgen.
NesseytheBrave: Creature sways and bows to Durgen. Then, "hello, strangers."
NesseytheBrave: We all say hello and introduce ourselves.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - who are you, pray tell?
NesseytheBrave: Creature - I am - Myrtilon
NesseytheBrave: Nessey - are you a stickie?
NesseytheBrave: Myrt - I... I.... I.... I am Myrtilion. Have you come to join us?
NesseytheBrave: Nessey says aside to Beedie - that guy who glided down? He wasn't named Myrtilion, was he?
NesseytheBrave: Beedie - that's a name from children's story of a sad romance with Love Wings. He was on Lost Bridge when it disappeared and then Love Wings threw herself off First Bridge.
NesseytheBrave: Nessey - Hi, Myrtilion, is Love Wings with you?
NesseytheBrave: Mrt - Love Wings? She is here.
NesseytheBrave: He stands swaying. Another robed figure glides out.
NesseytheBrave: We see no evidence of feet.
NesseytheBrave: The second figure says, "I...I...am Love Wings."

NesseytheBrave: Durgen looks at his sticks and repeats the question from "the young woman." "Well she might ask. What does she know?" He turns to her - "What do you know?"

NesseytheBrave: Durgen - what are you doing here?
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - are the Worms only found where the springs are hot?
NesseytheBrave: Durgen - the gound moved and the rocks tumbled and fell the Worms came.
NesseytheBrave: Up chasm rocks moved from one end of chasm to the other.
NesseytheBrave: Then the worms came.
NesseytheBrave: Nessey - did a Bridge fall when the earth shook?
NesseytheBrave: No, but the Bridges swayed a couple months ago?
NesseytheBrave: says Beedie after Old Dude doesn't know.
NesseytheBrave: Old Dude - the worms eat the stickies.
NesseytheBrave: Love Wings and Mryt say "yessss, yesssss"
NesseytheBrave: Carric - I believe the stickies might be the young roots.
NesseytheBrave: Caelesti - we should defeat the Worms.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - or move them back to other side of rocks or put the barrier back.

NesseytheBrave: Nessey - Well, Durgen, it has been nice meeting you and your friends, but we are going to go up chasm and try to kill those Worms that are being mean to the stickies. Okay?

NesseytheBrave: Carric lingers - are there more of your friends like Myrt and Love Wings?

NesseytheBrave: Durgen - talks to staff - This young man wants to know where the others live. Is he an enemy of the stickies?
NesseytheBrave: Carric - we are friends of the stickies.
NesseytheBrave: Durgen and Mryt and Love repeat, "Friends, friends, friends of the stickies..."
NesseytheBrave: Carric - see you later.
NesseytheBrave: Durgen, Myrt, Love - friends, friends, friends of the stickies, later, later, he will see us later, friends, friends, friends of the stickies.
NesseytheBrave: Carric thinks Durgen is derrange old Druid who talks to his stick too much.
NesseytheBrave: Carric - it is possible that Durgen knew the legend and named some reptilian creatures after that.
NesseytheBrave: Cae - why not shake the hands of the Stickies?
NesseytheBrave: Carric - I think he means root sap from the new roots.

NesseytheBrave: Carric - he talks to his own stick and thinks the roots are living creatures personified.
NesseytheBrave: Cae - so, you are saying these 3 protect the sticks, so the Order of the Stick.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - we still have a net mystery.

NesseytheBrave: Carric - some day if I am that old i will start talking to my stick instead of my weasel.
NesseytheBrave: Carric - Durgen's robed friends might have him under their spell or he felt the roots were his grove, who knows?
NesseytheBrave: Carric examines a puffer fish so he could turn into one later, if needed, and let Mercald carry his water-logged eagle.
NesseytheBrave: Mercald - I think Tan Kuran is the true messenger of the Boundless, not you.
NesseytheBrave: Carric - perhaps, perhaps, the intent of the Boundless is not always immediately known.
NesseytheBrave: When we are far enough away from Durgen Nessey asks Yoshi what his plan is.
NesseytheBrave: He says we keep going up chasm to find where there used to be a wall before the earthquake.
NesseytheBrave: We proceed through the wet haze, up chasm.
NesseytheBrave: It is is early in the morning or mid-morning.
NesseytheBrave: It gets slightly brighter as noonglow appears way, way, up above.
NesseytheBrave: Carric prays for spells. Yoshi regains his spells.
NesseytheBrave: Neither has spells used earlier today.
NesseytheBrave: Nesey sings to while away the time.
NesseytheBrave: Eventually we find tumbled down large slabs of stone. Rougher and steeper. Finally too steep to climb easilty.

NesseytheBrave: We find a cave to protect us from the wind.
NesseytheBrave: Carric seeks a cave for us.

NesseytheBrave: We go a couple hours and find another wall of fallen rocks. This one has no gap.

NesseytheBrave: Mavis - perhaps the Worms who used to live here have all migrated down chasm.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - where did they mate and reproduce?

NesseytheBrave: Carric finds a slither going off to a cave in one of the sides of the chasm.
NesseytheBrave: Carric leads us to that cave..
NesseytheBrave: Actually, Yoshi and Mavis are leading.
NesseytheBrave: A wormy-smell assalts us.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi asks if we can block the cave.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - perhaps we should just block the southern wall?
NesseytheBrave: Carric - throws handfuls of dirt around and ponders his spells.
NesseytheBrave: Nessey - can't we just do something to create an avalanche?
NesseytheBrave: for this cave, over here.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - destroying these things just because they are there seems unkind. let's just contrain them to their old hunting grounds
NesseytheBrave: Carric - welll, welll
NesseytheBrave: Caelesti - couldn't worms climb over wall anyway?
NesseytheBrave: mavis - they were climbing up the roots.
NesseytheBrave: There are not roots in this little section.
NesseytheBrave: Either the trees didn't grow here or didn't thrive here for some reason.

NesseytheBrave: he can't block the wall, so we must destroy the Worms here in this area.
NesseytheBrave: Caelesti - should we get Durgen to do it, she asks a nearby rock.
NesseytheBrave: Carric - um, um,
NesseytheBrave: mavis - what makes yoy think Durgen can do it.
NesseytheBrave: Carric - I can talk to Elementals and Animals, but I can not talk to sticks and have them answer back. That tells me hes...
NesseytheBrave: Mavis - pretty bonkers
NesseytheBrave: Carric - pretty high level
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - it is unclear to me that our wacky buddy has sufficient mental powers to handle this coherently.
NesseytheBrave: So we head to the Worm cave.
NesseytheBrave: Caelesti - can we sacrifice the Banders to the Worms?
NesseytheBrave: Nessey - they are probably encountering Durgen and his friends right now and they will take care of the Banders.
NesseytheBrave: Caelesti continue to talk to rocks and laugh sinisterly to herself.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi goes first into the cave. Braaaave Yoshi!
NesseytheBrave: Mavis accompanies Yoshi. Mavis - I am prepared to fight Pombis, how about you?
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - I will fight any Pombis you are not able to find.

NesseytheBrave: They decide to whack it.
NesseytheBrave: The pods are tubes about 3ft diameter and 8ft long.
NesseytheBrave: There are 4 pods.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi asks around for a big stick.
NesseytheBrave: Carric has a club.
NesseytheBrave: Mavis asks to join Carric's club.
NesseytheBrave: Carric lends Yoshi his club.
NesseytheBrave: Mavis and Yoshi stand back, as does Caelesti.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi takes careful aim, then closes his eyes and turns away.

NesseytheBrave: It goes thunk. Splursh. Otherwise undamaged.

NesseytheBrave: Yoshi slashes a gash in the side, while turning his face away.

NesseytheBrave: Yoshi whacks until Carric says it is not going to live. he hacks it into little pieces.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi, singled handedly whacks all four. They are not going to hatch. Yoshi stinks and needs a bath.
NesseytheBrave: They look for other exits and find none.
NesseytheBrave: Mommy worm left her larvae here and went off to other side of gap perhaps..
NesseytheBrave: Carric wants to look for other caves.

NesseytheBrave: Yoshi and other emerge. Carric prays while the rest of us gag at horrible smell and oozy slimey appearance of Yoshi.
NesseytheBrave: Carric, after praying, finds one more cave with two more larvae. Yoshi, the stinker, goes in and whacks those.
NesseytheBrave: My "friends" recommend Nessey throw herself in mouth of next big worms and activate her cloak of thorns. They say that is best strategy.
NesseytheBrave: We climb back over to the other side?
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi says worms and snakes make hissing noises like Myrt and Love Wings.
NesseytheBrave: Nessey - and what does that mean?

NesseytheBrave: He takes it out and shows it to them.

NesseytheBrave: Mavis takes out daggar and slits the side of the robe. Opens it.
NesseytheBrave: They see a framework of sticks supporting robe in human shape. Basket at the bottom holding up the sticks.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi - we need to back away and talk.
NesseytheBrave: Yoshi is less concerned with stick creatures. More concerned with deranged Druid.
NesseytheBrave: Bottom of robe is attached to bottom of basket.
NesseytheBrave: Carric - that's not high level magic. He might have thrown his voice. Low level animation.
