Talon - Stats
Talon Tallera is tall, shapely and exotic looking. She is the great-granddaughter of a silver dragon. Her skin is white with freckles of tiny silver scales. Her eyes are molten-blue and glow softly in the dark. Her hair is white, streaked with silver.

Talon is knowledgeable, diplomatic, and neutral of alignment. She is a charmer, who can blend in with most any party. Talon specializes in ranged attacks (spells and arrows) as she is physically too weak to be a melee fighter.

Talon has a love of sumptuous surroundings, frosted cakes, honeyed wine, romantic music, dancing and heroic tales. She is the sometimes-companion of Brianna.

Bardic Knowledge: Talon may make a bardic knowledge check with a bonus of +19 to see whether she knows some relevant information about local notable people, legendary items, or noteworthy places.

Bardic Music: Talon can use her song or poetics to produce magical effects on those around her. She can use any combination of the following effects, 11 times per day.

Countersong (Su): Talon can counter magical effects that depend on sound by making a Perform check for each round of countersong. Any creature within 30 feet of her who is affected by a sonic or language-dependent magical attack may use her Perform check result in place of his or her saving throw if desired. Countersong lasts for 10 rounds.

Fascinate (Sp): Talon can cause up to four creatures within 90 feet that can see and hear her to become fascinated with her. Talon's Perform check +2 (because of her Dragonsong) result is the DC for the opponent's Will save. Any obvious threat breaks the effect. Fascination lasts up to 4 rounds. This is an enchantment (compulsion), mind-affecting ability.

Inspire Courage (Su): Allies who can hear Talon receive a +2 morale bonus to saves against charm and fear effects and a +2 morale bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls. The effect lasts for as long as the ally hears the song and for 5 rounds thereafter. This is a mind-affecting ability

Inspire Competence (Su): An ally within 30 feet who can see and hear Talon gets a +2 competence bonus on skill checks with a particular skill for as long as he or she can hear the music, to a maximum of 2 minutes. This is a mind-affecting ability.

Suggestion (Sp): Talon can make a suggestion (as the spell) to a creature she has already fascinated. A Will save with a DC of 22 (or 24 vs. males) negates the effect. Using suggestion on a fascinated creature does not count as against Talon's daily usage of Bardic Music effects. This is an enchantment (compulsion), mind-affecting, language-dependent ability.

Inspire Greatness (Su): An ally within 30 feet (including herself) who can hear Talon sing receives 2 bonus Hit Dice (d10s), the commensurate number of temporary hit points (apply Constitution modifier, if any to these bonus Hit Dice), a +2 competence bonus on attack rolls, and a +1 competence bonus on Fortitude saves. The effect lasts for as long as the ally hears the song and for 5 rounds thereafter. This is a mind-affecting ability.

Song of Freedom (Sp): Talon can use music or poetics to create an effect equivalent to the break enchantment spell (caster level equals her bard level). Using this ability requires 1 minute of uninterrupted concentration and music, and it functions on a single target within 30 feet. Talon can't use song of freedom on herself.

Song of Arcane Power: Talon can use her bardic music to assist her spellcasting. As a move action, she can prepare to cast a spell by giving voice to the song of power. The next spell she casts gains a bonus to its caster level based on the result of the Perform check:

The spell to be enhanced by the song of arcane power must be cast by the end of Talon's next turn, or else the song fades with no effect (other than consuming a bardic music use).

Anklet of Translocation (1,400) (MIC 71)

A pewter chime hangs from this simple leather ankle-band.

Up to twice a day, when activated via a swift command, you can instantly teleport without error up to 10 feet. The new space must be within line of sight and line of effect. You cannot move into a space occupied by another creature or a solid object; attempting this wastes the activation. You can bring along objects weighing up to your maximum load, but you can't bring another creature with you.

Brianna's bracelet of communication (2,000)

This silver bracelet has a cartouche of a raven with a small ruby for an eye

This bracelet has an aura of moderate evocation but has no powers unless it has been attuned to Brianna's circlet. Once so attuned, the wearer can use a sending spell once a day to contact Brianna.

Crystal of Return (weapon crystal) (MIC 65)

This crystal is the color of a cloudless sky.

The owner can draw the weapon to which a least crystal is affixed as free action. A lesser crystal additionally allows her to call the weapon (if unattended) into her hand from up to 30 ft. away as a move action. A greater crystal additionally grants the returning property to the weapon. This property functions only for a weapon designed to be thrown.

Healing Belt (750) (MIC 110)

This broad leather belt is studded with three moonstones.

While weaeing a healing belt, you gain a +2 competence bonus on Heal checks. This is a continuous effect and requires no activation.
In addition, the belt has 3 charges which are renewed each day at dawn. Spending one or more charges allows you to channel positive energy and heal damage with a touch. (You can also use this ability to harm undead, dealing them an equivalent amount of damage instead.)
1 charge: Heals 2d8 points of damage.
2 charges: Heals 3d8 points of damage.
3 charges: Heals 4d8 points of damage.

Heward's Handy Haversack (2,000) (DMG 259)

A backpack of this sort appears to be well made, well used, and quite ordinary. It is constructed of finely tanned leather, and the straps have brass hardware and buckles. It has two side pouches, each of which appears large enough to hold about a quart of material. In fact, each is like a bag of holding and can actually hold material of as much as 2 cubic feet in volume or 20 pounds in weight. The large central portion of the pack can contain up to 8 cubic feet or 80 pounds of material. Even when so filled, the backpack always weighs only 5 pounds.
While such storage is useful enough, the pack has an even greater power in addition. When the wearer reaches into it for a specific item, that item is always on top. Thus, no digging around and fumbling is ever necessary to find what a haversack contains. Retrieving any specific item from a haversack is a move action, but it does not provoke the attacks of opportunity that retrieving a stored item usually does.

Shiftweave Robe (500) (MIC 133)

This otherwise plain-looking set of clothing seems to have gossamer threads woven randomly into the fabric.

Upon command, this garment changes to resemble five specific outfits. It has no effect on any armor worn and does not change the effect of other magical clothing worn.

Talon had this custom constructed to have the following outfits:

  1. Unseelie Court Attire. Help me out here. What are my choices of colors and fabrics and patterns they wear?
  2. Rowansmeade "pretty peasant girl" outfit. White blouse, gathered and tied under the neck, and with short puffy sleeves. A soft brown leather vest, laced with green ribbons. A dark green skirt in a home-spun tweed. Lace up, knee high boots. A ruffled bonnet of crisp white linen.
  3. Barbarian Queen outfit. Rich black furs and skins with deep blue silk shift underneath. Very regal and intimidating. The little claws of the skinned animals are part of the outift. There is a preserved furry head or two with sparkling eyes around the shoulders.
  4. Very glittery, very silvery entertainer's 3-piece outfit, pantaloons, top and jacket, in rich silks with lots of silver bangles and jangles and sparkling diamond-like jewels. Makes melodic sounds as Talon dances or walks.
  5. Long, flowing gown with layers of billowly chiffon, very light, very thin layers of white with light blue clouds printed on various layers. The layers of the gown billow in the slightest breeze, float as Talon walks, and swirl as she dances.

Tome Of Worldly Memory (1,500) (MIC 190)

This small book is bound in hammered silver and engraved with the continents of the world.

By studying the book for 1 minute, gain a +5 competence bonus to a single Knowledge check. If you have at least 5 ranks of the Knowledge check in question, you can peruse it as a standard action to gain the benefit. The tome functions three times per day.

You clean one creature, ridding it of dirt, sweat, contamination, foul odors, and so on. This spell not only makes its subject presentable for fine company, it promotes better health. For 24 hours after casting, the affected creature gains a +1 circumstance bonus against disease. Used frequently, this spell can stave off tooth decay and other such minor maladies, although this has no in-game effect.
