After prep spells, the party returned to the giant homestead. Caelesti cast Fly on everyone except Carric, who turned into an eagle. As the party approached the tower, the guard was stone giant instead of a hill giant. The party recalled the stone giants were not necessarily hostile, so Talon attempted to befriend it. The giant rang the gong anyway.

Yoshi charged the giant, avoiding being clubbed on route, and swung at the stone giant.
Mongo and Torin flew nearer.
Carric, in eagle form, started squawking out a spell.
The stone giant fled down the stairs, being struck twice on the way.
Carric summoned a bear.

The party debated what to do since the fleeing giant was able to communicate what happened to it. They decided to stick it out, and two giants came up the stairs within a minute.

Yoshi charged the first giant on the stairs, striking with a well-place fist.
The giant struck the bear with its great club.
Talon started singing an inspiring song.
The bear clawed the giant.
Caelesti cast Haste on Yoshi, Torin, Mongo, and the bear.
Carric started squawking out another spell.

Yoshi struck the giant three times in a hasted flurry of blows.
Mongo struck the giant twice, once very solidly.
Carric's bear clawed and bit the giant, dropping it.
Carric summoned three dire wolves.
Another giant appeared at the top of the stairs and struck the bear.
Talon struck her Chime of Harmonic Agony.
Caelesti cast Tasha's Hideous Laughter at the giant, but it didn't get it.
Yoshi struck the giant four times.
The bear claws the giant three times and it falls.

A minute goes by before another giant appears (the wolves already winked out).
Yoshi stunned the new giant with a kick to the head, and the surrounding creatures struck it until it dropped.

A fourth giant appeared, and four appeared on the ground below (having come out the front gate).
Caelesti cast Confusion on the four below, affecting them all.
The party attacked the lone giant in the tower.

Nessey's notes

Talon: We plan to go to our cave and rest. Then go and ring gong and kill giants.
Caelesti In the hope of attracting another small group of giants to attack, rather than the large group held up in the dining hall.
Talon: Caelesti, the evil mastermind, says we should kill the guard first and then ring the gong so there is one less giant to kill.
Talon: We walk to nearby the Keep, then Caelesti puts fly spells on us.
Talon: Except maybe for Carric - who might turn into an Eagle.
Talon: We discuss how Yoshi might have Known many women in the Biblical sense or perhaps women just claim that - to explain their mystery children.
Talon: A different type of Giant is on watch in the tower.
Talon: A Stone Giant? says Caelesti.
Talon: Stone giants are hired help.
