The party squeezed more money out of Mavis and purchased more stuff for there mission to the land of giants. After meeting again at the Temple of Arianrhod, the party headed south. Caelesti cast Mount spells to summoned horses for Carric, Torin, and herself. They passed through towns where they had done good deeds and were remembered.

Far to the south, the party was ambushed by a band of hill giants; the lead singer had a "smashing" tune. The giants popped up through trap doors covering their foxholes and attacked those that they could reach. One pounded Caelesti with a big fist, and another hit Carric.

Carric turned into an eagle.
Yoshi swung at an ogre, but missed.
Caelesti rode her horse past a giant that pounded her horse, nearly dropping it, but the two rode on.
Talon pulled a fiendish dire weasel out of her Mandolin and sicced it on a giant. The weasel bit a giant and latched on. Talon then used her amulet to summon a giant wasp to attack another giant. The wasp stung the giant.
Torin cast Recitation.

A giant pounded Carric's horse, poofing it. He then struck Carric the eagle, ruffling his feathers.
Another giant climbed out of his hole and struck Torin.
A giant struck Yoshi twice.
A giant struck the giant wasp twice, poofing it.
The last giant struck the weasel, poofing it. It then swung at Talon.
Yoshi attacked the giant on him with a flurry of blows, hitting him 3 times and knocking him into the hole.
Carric flew up into the air and cast Flame Strike on two giants.
Torin cast Flame Strike on the same two giants.
Caelesti cast Fly on herself and headed skyward, and back toward the group.
Talon pulled her charm of agonizing harmony out of her Handy Haversack, and sent sonic waves at the most damaged giant, killing it.

A giant climbed out of its hole and pounded Torin's horse, poofing it. Torin fell to the ground.
Another giant hit Torin once; the Recitation haved him from a second pound.
A giant struck Tintin twice, dropping it. Talon cast Feather Fall and landed on her feet.
The last giant struck Talon twice, once critically, dropping her.
Yoshi cured himself with Wholeness of Body and Rags of Restraint.
Carric started a summoning spell.
Torin grabbed Talon and cast Dimension Door, arriving at a seemingly safe distance.
Caelesti cast Magic Missiles on the most damaged giant, and flew higher and farther away.

The giant by Talon searched for her under her mule and appeared confused.
Two giants were distracted by the first and only got one swing at Yoshi. One missed; the other hit.
The last giant picked up Tintin's dying body and tossed it to the side, killing her.
Yoshi translocated next to the most wounded giant and stuck it once.
Carric summoned a polar bear to claw and bite the same giant; it nearly fell. Carric started another summoning spell.
Torin cast a cure on Talon, bringing her to consciousness.
Caelesti cast more Magic Missiles, dropping the second giant.

All three giants pounded on the polar bear, hitting it five times before it poofed out.
Yoshi moved with magic to another giant, and struck at it in a wild flurry, missing three times.
Carric summoned two dire wolves that attacked a giant. Carric started another summoning spell.
Torin advanced toward the battle and cast a Moonbolt against the same giant, weakening it slightly.
Caelesti cast Magic Missiles at it.
Talon advanced and cured herself.

Two giants attacked Yoshi, hitting three times. Yoshi fell.
The last giant advanced on Torin, and struck him.
The two dire wolves attacked a giant, tripping it. Two new dire wolves joined in the fray.
Torin cast Flame Strike on the clumped up giants, dropping one.
Caelest cast Magic Missiles at a giant.
Talon quaffed an Invisibility Potion and advanced toward the melee.

A giant moved toward Talon, bumping into the invisible Talon. He attacked Torin, hitting hard.
The other giant struck Torin once.
Torin swung at the surrounded giant, dropping it.
Caelesti cast Haste on the wolves and Torin.
Talon cast CSW on Yoshi, bringing him to consciousness.

The remaining giant attacked a dire wolf, badly damaged it.
Yoshi used a charm to move from the giant.
The hasty wolves took the giant down.

The party cured up in relative safety.

Scribe: We discusss the original agreement and the selling of the evil book by the false Nessey. Should we be recompensed further?

Scribe: When we go back and retrace our route, there are some villages where Yoshi was hero when he returned and didn't go with us to Unseelie Court.
Scribe: We travel uneventfully for some number of days and come to the fork in the woods to go by the spaceship or not.
Scribe: It is a year and 1/2 later. We find it has rotted away. We can only find it because we know what we are looking for. But it is almost gone.
Scribe: We discuss Mindflayers since that might be what arrived in the ship.
Scribe: No people who have lost their brains come forth.
Scribe: We backtrack to other fork in road and keep heading south.
