Yoshi struck the laughing Armiger several times. Mavis flew over the balcony and shot the fleeing Armiger twice. Caelesti flew to the edge of the balcony and fired Magic Missiles at the Armiger as well. The fleeing Sorcerer and Armiger called for help and reinforcements. The arrowhawk flew about aimlessly, awaiting the next command from Carric. The dire wolf attacked the laughing Armiger, dropping him. Carric fell unconscious twitching. Nessey pulled out a CLW potion and quaffed it.

Yoshi and Mavis moved to Carric and picked him up. Caelesti took up the rear. A new Armiger appeared at the door. Blourbast yelled to the Armiger to go after the invaders. The wolf continued to rip apart the previously laughing, but currently unconscious, Armiger. Nessey and the shadow people began their exodus.

Yoshi, Mavis, Carric, and Caelesti flew faster than those on foot, and quickly caught up to Nessey and the shadow people. The group made it to the secret door unmolested. Nessey and Caelesti took over carrying Carric so that Mavis and Yoshi could fight.

Yoshi opened the door. Mavis surprised a Sorcerer with an arrow. An Armiger charged Yoshi, hitting.

Mavis shot another arrow into the surprised Sorcerer, dropping him. A Sorcerer shot a Scorching Ray at Mavis, engulfing her in fire. Another Armiger attacked Yoshi at the door, hitting him. The first Armiger missed Yoshi. Caelesti dropped Carric, moved up to get a line of effect on the Armigers and successfully cast Hideous Laughter on one. Yoshi backed up a few steps and cured himself. Nessey dropped Carric as well and advanced to an Armiger and struck him. The last Armiger gawked at his laughing compatriot.

Mavis shot two arrows into the remaining Sorcerer. The Sorcerer sent another Scorching Ray at Mavis, but she successfully evaded it. The Armiger successfully returned a blow on Nessey. Caelesti successfully cast Hideous Laughter on the Sorcerer. Yoshi tumbled passed the laughing Armiger and flanked the one attacking Nessey, but he missed. Nessey raged and returned blows, hitting twice. The last Armiger attacked Yoshi, hitting once.

Mavis also attacked the damaged Armiger, hitting twice. The badly damaged Armiger attacked Nessey, hitting twice. Caelesti tumbled passed the laughing Armiger and unsuccessfully cast Hideous Laugher on the unwounded Armiger. Yoshi struck the badly wounded Armiger twice, dropping him. Nessey advanced on the unwounded Armiger, hitting. The last Armiger moved up against the wall and attacked Nessey, hitting once.

Mavis shot two arrows, but missed. Caelesti successfully cast Hidous Laughter on the remaining Armiger. Yoshi struck the Armiger once. Nessey missed twice.

Mavis flanked a laughing Armiger, getting two sneaky stabs in, and dropping him. Caelesti pulled out her dagger and stabbed the laughing Sorcerer. Yoshi struck the last Armiger three times, and Nessey struck him once, but he continued laughing.

Mavis said she heard voices coming back from the hallway where Carric lay. She then moved to flank the remaining Sorcerer with Caelesti and stabbed him (he dropped). Caelesti moved back to Carric and started to lift him. Yoshi dropped the remaining Armiger. Nessey moved back to Carric and helped lift him. The shadow people rushed out.

Mavis moved to the secret door. Caelesti and Nessey carried Carric out the door. Mavis closed the door behind them and jammed the door. Nessey let out a sigh of relief, her rage dissipated, and she collapsed. Yoshi gave Nessey a CLW potion to bring her around.

The party moved to the edge of the ravine. Caelesti communicated with charades that she wanted to carry them up to the top of the cliff. The shadow people all climbed onto Caelesti at one time. Since the shadow people were tiny, Caelesti attempted to fly them all up at once. She was successful. Others carried Carric.

The group headed back to the shadow village to a joyous reunion. Nessey presented Ganver's Bone to the leader and pointed at Carric. The leader pointed upward and chattered. Yoshi presumed he was indicating that they had to wait until the sun set. After a short stand off, a celebration began. There was much dancing. Caelesti worked at learning the shadow folk dances.

At dusk, elders appeared dragging a cauldron. They began a ritual. The smoke from the herb mixture made Caelesti and Nessey tipsy. Caelesti's dance got silly and turned into a striptease. Flashes of light filled the sky. The light reached out far and wide. Some light hit Carric, and he began to stir. Carric seemed to have gotten better. The party assumed that the shadow people used their magic and Ganver's Bone to cure the other townfolk.

Nessey: He says, "Well, well, well." He clutches his fingers together and looks up at Caelesti and at fallen Armiger (a dead one) and starts concentrating.
Nessey: Arrowhawk flies aimlessly. Dire Wolf gnaws at downed Armiger who laughs no more.
Nessey: New round with Yoshi and Mavis.
Nessey: They fly with Carric.
Nessey: Caelesti follows, bringing up the Rear.
Nessey: We hear Dire Wolf yapping in the distance.

Nessey: WE hear chittering and see shadow people in the hills and the ex-captives run up and meet their kin.
Nessey: Nessey presents them with the bone necklace and curtseys.

Nessey: They look and their eyes get big and they chitter.

Nessey: They don't take it.

Nessey: he takes it off and holds it and looks at it in wonder.
Nessey: He looks at Carric and touches him with it and chitters.
Nessey: Carric does not respond.
Nessey: He sighs and points to the top of a hill and gestures and follow him.

Nessey: We follow. He chitters. He seems helpful, but wants us to do something.
Nessey: Caelesti determines that the bone is magical.
Nessey: Caelesti tries to use bone to touch Carric.
Nessey: Guy pulls back bone and points to sky and chitters. Yoshi speculates that we have to wait until night.
Nessey: Nessey says then let's have a party!!
Nessey: Nessey gets out food and wine.
Nessey: We wrap Carric on a blanket. He was several bumps on his head.
Nessey: Everyone gets cheerful and makes music. We all dance around except Yoshi and Carric.
Nessey: it gets darker. Late at night. About an hour before midnight, a couple older Shadow people appear dragging a cauldron and set it up. They toss in herbs. Nessey: One of them points up to a bright blue star that is approaching it's zenith.
Nessey: A couple young ones produce some fire.
Nessey: The cauldron heats up. The herbs boil and make sweet fumes.

Nessey: As blue star reaches its zenith, one of elder shadow folk tosses pebble into pot and a billow of smoke goes straight up and flash of light comes down from the sky and strikes the cauldron.
Nessey: Rays of light shoot out in all directions. One ray goes straight to Carric. Other rays go to Pfarb Durim and Poffle. A whirling shadow comes down through the air and grabs the bone and whirls away. They flashing light disappear. The smoke disipates.
Nessey: Carric sits up and moans and sees half naken Caelesti and sits up faster and his eyes bug out and he asks what happened and how he got here.
Nessey: Carric says he thought he was joining Belenus. He thought he was reaching the noon day sun. Here it is midnight.
Nessey: Caelesti - you are probably disappointed then? She continue dancing.
Nessey: Carric - I feel better. I have been out of my body for so long.
Nessey: He feels different somehow. He might be only Aasimar-touched, not true Aasimar anymore.
Nessey: His hair doesn't look so gold. It all falls out and grows back different later.
Nessey: He is a half ass-imar now.
Nessey: He can buy light to daylight, buy feats to reproduce most of previous abilities.
Nessey: He looks shaken.
Nessey: We wonder if he had a prophetic dream?
Nessey: He will be subdued for a while.
Nessey: He might cure us all, though, at noon the next day.
Nessey: Overnight, we get back 1 or 2 per level.
Nessey: I am L7. so I get 14 points back over night.
Nessey: Ganders bone was taken by the whirling shape. The Shadow people got big eyes and fell on their faces, chittering "Gamber, Gamber, Gamber."
Nessey: Yoshi says we should check out Pfarb Durim.
Nessey: See what the net effect is.
Nessey: Mavis does not want to go back to Poffle and see if Blourbast is better.
Nessey: Nessey wants to head on to lake of reflecting faces.
