Searching the ogre magi revealed a large chain shirt, a large bow, and a large great-sword. Talon cured the wounded pack animals.

The party headed west. Days came and went. The trail then turned south and lead to the steppes. Standing stones could be seen in the distance on a small hill.

The party traveled to the base of the hill. It looked to be too steep for the horses. Talon volunteered to stay with the horses. The others headed up a path to the stones.

All of a sudden, Tan-kuran dropped into a dive and flew past the party. Two winged reptilian creatures were chasing her.

Carric cast Bull's Strength on Yoshi.
Yoshi threw a shuriken at one, getting its attention.
One wyvern flew down and clawed at Yoshi, but missed.
The other wyvern flew down to Mavis and clawed her.

Mavis drew her rapier and stabbed the wyvern that clawed her.
Carric started casting.
Yoshi, in a flurry of blows, struck the wyvern twice.
The Wyvern tried to sting Yoshi, missed, and flew past.
Nessey activated Protection from Evil and drew a bow.
The other wyvern stung Mavis, weakening her, and few past as well.
Caelesti cast Magic Missiles at the lead wyvern.

Mavis dropped her rapier, drew her bow, and shot the wyvern that stung her.
Carric's summoned giant eagle appeared next to the lead wyvern and clawed it.
Carric then moved to Mavis and cast Neutralize Poison on Mavis.
Yoshi threw some shuriken toward a wyvern.
The lead wyvern stung the giant eagle. The eagle succumbed to the poison and died.
Nessey shot an arrow, but missed.
The other wyvern flew by, clawed at Mavis, and continued on.
Caelesti cast more Magic Missiles at the same wyvern.

Mavis shot three arrows at her wyvern, hitting once.
Carric started casting.
Yoshi threw two shuriken at his wyvern.
Yoshi's wyvern stung him as it flew by. The poison weakened him.
Nessey shot an arrow into a wyvern.
The other wyvern flew back across the path and stung Mavis again. Mavis was unaffected by the poison.
Caelesti cast Magic Missiles again, dropping Yoshi's wyvern.

Mavis shot her wyvern with two arrows.
Carric's second giant eagle attacked the remaining wyvern, clawing it.
Carric cast Magic Missiles at the wyvern.
Yoshi threw two shuriken at the wyvern.
Nessey shot an arrow into the wyvern.
The wyvern stung the eagle and flew by. The eagle was not affected by the poison.
Caelesti cast Magic Missiles at the wyvern.

Mavis shot two arrows.
Carric's giant eagle chased after the wyvern and clawed at it.
Carric cast Magic Missiles, dropping the wyvern.
Yoshi cured himself.
Carric restored some of Yoshi's constitution damage.
The poison did affect Yoshi any further.

The party continued to the top of the hill. Nessey found the spot dedicated to her tribe. She planted her spear, asked everyone to hold hands, and made a speech.

Looking about, the party could see an encampment to the east. The steppes turned to rolling hills to the west. Carric said he wanted to head west to find the Valley of the Bridgers -- since the party was close. As it was getting dark, the party climbed back down the hill to join Talon and the horses.

Carric mentioned the runes above and produced the runes he had copied from the last time. Talon looked at the runes and said it was in common, though written in runes. The message said, "If you can read this you are too close." It was assumed that the message was simply graffiti.

The party set up watches for the night. Carric dreamed during the night, presenting his tale in the morning. Yoshi said that it was a Sending dream. He said that the black-haired woman was the guide to the Realm of the Gamesmen. Carric recalled that the woman could have been Brianna, a bard in the sidhe hill.

Talon used the magical bracelet that Brianna had given her to send Brianna a message. It briefly summarized Carric's dream. They conversed back and forth, ultimately agreeing to meet in the town of Morganstein, four days south west of the standing stones. The party made plans to go to Morganstein.

Talon&Nessey: It is clear to us that our horses are not going up the hill with us, regardless of whether or not people are camping on the other side of the sacred hill.
Talon&Nessey: Yoshi expresses his willingness to do "whatever Carric thinks is appropriate."
Talon&Nessey: Talon offers to stay with the horses. She has a ring of communication with Yoshi.
Talon&Nessey: But only if Yoshi activates his to ask how she and the horses are doing.
Talon&Nessey: Talon is fine if someone else wants to stay with the horses. Then she can go up make notes on the sacred event.
Talon&Nessey: Talon will stay with mules AND horses, if Carric helps her make up camp.
Talon&Nessey: Yoshi insistes on going first up the path. Nessey insists on being second, with the sacred spear.
