Start by looking at the Player Overview of the world: what a character living in the world can be expected to know about it. This should have all the information you will need to role-play a character in the campaign, aside from any special information the DM gives to your specific character.

Then, look at the various rules-oriented pages, containing things you will need to create a V3.5 D&D character that lives on this world. The Player's Guide describes everything that is non-standard in this campaign. This points to various other pages of interest:

• Standard and non-standard Feats.
• The role of Religion, including the pantheon of deities that characters worship.
