This is the birthday list of the most memorable characters, including all of the ones whose portrait appears in the gallery.

In order to really understand this, one must realize that the Dargas campaign started using AD&D V1 (including Unearthed Arcana), was converted to V2 when that came out, moved to V2 Skills & Powers when that optional supplement was published, eventually converted to V3, and is now using the V3.5 rules. Whew!

Among the things that have changed radically through the various versions of the game are the lifespans of the different races, as well as the transitions within a character's life when they become "middle aged", "old", or "venerable". An Elf in V1 could not expect to start adventuring until she was 175 years old and could expect to live to be as old as 1600 years old. A V3 elf would start adventuring as early as 110 years old, would reach Middle Age at 175, and could expect to die by age 750. Therefore, converting a V1-generated Elf also requires converting her date of birth to conform with V3-standard lifespans. I have a little treatise on the topic.

Here are the Age Categories in effect for the Dargas Campaign. Every race except human is standard V3. The categories for humans are derived from V2; others are standard V3. My opinion is that this is incorrect: I think it should be a hybrid of V1 and V2, with Venerable starting at 80 and the other categories deriving from that age as standard in V3.
